Auditions 

As a community-based symphony orchestra, the Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra consists of both paid and volunteer musicians. Individuals who wish to become a paid member or paid substitute must successfully pass an audition. We hold blind annual auditions for open seats and/or placement on the substitute list.

Auditions for the SSSO, normally held in the fall each year, will likely happen early in 2026 instead.  Please keep an eye on this page for updated information and excerpts. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
