75th Anniversary

Back in 2008-2009, we celebrated our 75th anniversary of producing live classical music for our friends and neighbors with a series of concerts that included a collaboration with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company, a concert version of “Cavalleria Rusticana,” a world premiere of Jose Raul Bernardo’s “Piano Concerto No. 2” and opened with a community-supported symphonic photochoreographic essay on Schenectady and the Mohawk Valley.

Working with guest photochoreographer James Westwater, we created an original multimedia piece of music, with images projected on three screens, accompanied by the orchestra’s performance of Aaron Copland’s “Our Town.” The image is a mosaic created from all of the photos submitted for the project.
